WHAT IS ACUPUNCTURE?  Simply stated, it is used to treat both pain and dysfunction in the body by clearing energy blockages or balancing energy meridians (acupressure points in the body).  The human body's energy flow courses over 12 meridians channels in the human body and if a disruption of energy flow exists it can alter the entire system producing pain or illness symptoms in the body.

The science of acupuncture dates back between 5000 and 7000 years and it's roots are deeply planted in China.  Today it is practiced widely across the globe.

IS IT PAINFUL?  Acupuncture needles are very small, about the size of a human hair.  Seven acupuncture needles will fit into one hypodermic needle (normal needle used by a medical doctor to administer an injection).  Usually there is no pain associated with inserting an acupuncture needle.

WHAT CONDITIONS CAN BE TREATED?  Acute and chronic pain, headaches (including migraine), neck and back pain, shoulder disorders, tennis elbow, repetitive motion injury such as carpal tunnel, bladder dysfunction, gastric problems, asthma, allergies, sinus conditions, skin conditions, abnormal blood pressure, fatigue, anxiety, various eye problems, Bells Palsy (facial paralysis).  This is only a partial list of conditions which acupuncture has helped to cure or control.

HOW MANY TREATMENT WILL I NEED?  Each condition is different and requires different schedules of treatment.  Since people heal at their body's own pace some get results from the 1st visit and some require more visits.  However, it is very common to begin with 4 sessions.  Patient's are encouraged to be patient with the healing process.  The treatment regimen will be adjusted according to the condition and your body's own healing ability.

The pictures below show not only acupuncture needles applied but they also have the stimulation electrodes on the needles.  The electrical stimulation is an additional service that can be applied to the needles for additional energy stimulation.

ELECTRICAL MERIDIAN IMAGING (EMI):  This is a computerized evaluation to read the energy levels in 12 major energy points.  This examination allows the computer to graph the energy levels in the energy points, which then allows the doctor to see what needs to be done to balance the energy in the body.
